Understanding the Upgrade
- Previously, in Bisner, every user spent one credit for each hour spent in any room. Thus, using a room for one hour resulted in a deduction of one credit from your available credit balance.
- However, with the latest update, admins now have the ability to customise the credit cost per hour and per room based on the specific roles of members.
- This enhancement offers greater flexibility in both resource allocation and cost management, empowering administrators to optimise usage according to varying needs and preferences.
Enabling Credit Limits
To take advantage of this feature, administrators need to enable credit limits within the Bisner admin panel. Here's how you can do it:
- Navigate to the Admin Panel within the admin panel, locate the 'Modules' tab, and select 'Booking'.
- From there, navigate to 'Settings'.
- In the 'Booking Credits' section, toggle the switch to "Enable Credit Limits".
- Set the number of ‘credits per role’ which can be set in decimals such as 0.25, 0.75, or 1.35 according to your preferences. Once done, remember to save your changes at the end of the page.
Configuring Room Settings
Once credit limits are enabled, administrators can configure the credit cost per hour for each room based on member roles. Follow these steps to configure room settings:
- Within the admin panel, under the 'Modules' tab, select 'Booking' and then 'Settings'. Choose 'Meeting Rooms'.
- From the list of available rooms, choose the one you wish to configure.
- Go to the ‘settings’ page and toggle on the switch for ‘Enable paid booking’
- scroll down to the 'Credits per Hour' section and set the credits per hour for each member role. Once done, remember to save your changes at the end of the page.
Note: When credit pricing is enabled for a room, all users are set to 1 credit per hour by default unless configured otherwise.
Understanding Different Scenarios
- Rooms with Only Credit Usage
- With 'Enable Paid Booking' turned off, members cannot book a room if they lack credits or if their credit budget is exhausted.
- Room with Credits and Paid Booking Enabled
- When 'Enable Paid Booking' is on, users can book a room even after exhausting their credits. They'll then need to make payments based on the hourly rates for the remaining hours.
- Room Exclusively for Paid Reservations
- Toggle on "Disable Reservations with Credits". When credit limits are disabled, members pay based on the hourly rate.
Understanding Pricing Logic
In scenarios where a member has more than one role, Bisner employs a logical pricing system. If different credits are set for each role, the system charges the member based on the lowest applicable rate. For instance, if a ‘Guest role’ is set at 2 credits per hour and a ‘User role’ at 1 credit per hour, the member will be charged at the user rate of 1 credit per hour.
